Canopy Run, on the web at canopy-run.com and as an iPhone and iPad app. Last updated 5 October 2026.
Canopy Run has no accounts, ads or tracking. You can play the whole game without sending us anything personal. The website counts visits with privacy-friendly analytics (no cookies, nothing that identifies you), and the only thing you choose to send is a leaderboard entry, if you submit one.
What stays on your device
Your unlocked levels, best times, sound setting and which cutscenes you've seen are saved in your browser's or the app's local storage. They never leave your device, and clearing the site's data (or deleting the app) removes them.
The leaderboard
When you submit a time from the win screen, we store:
- the name you type (pick a nickname, not your real name)
- the level, your time, coins collected and falls
- when it was submitted
- a salted, one-way hash of your IP address, used only to limit how many times one connection can submit or report per hour. We can't turn it back into your IP address.
Names and times are public: anyone can see the top 10 for each level. If you report a leaderboard entry, we store which entry you reported, when, and the same kind of IP hash, so one person can't hide an entry alone.
Names that are offensive are blocked or removed. Entries stay on the leaderboard until they're removed.
Services we use
- Cloudflare hosts the website and the leaderboard. Like any web host it processes your IP address to deliver pages, under Cloudflare's privacy policy.
- Cloudflare Web Analytics counts visits to the website: pages viewed, load speed, and the rough country, browser and device type of each visit. It uses no cookies or local storage, doesn't follow you across sites and doesn't build a profile of you. We only see totals. The iPhone and iPad app doesn't use it.
- Google Fonts serves the game's fonts on the website, so your browser contacts Google when the page loads (Google's privacy policy). The iPhone and iPad app includes its fonts and doesn't contact Google.
Children
Canopy Run is suitable for all ages and doesn't knowingly collect personal information from anyone. The only thing a player can share is a nickname on the leaderboard, so we recommend children use one that doesn't identify them.
Removing your data
To have a leaderboard entry removed, or to ask anything about this policy, email [email protected] with the name and level. We'll remove it within 30 days.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
