Short description

Canopy Run is a free, hand-built platformer with low-poly art rendered in Blender. Play as Ember the fox, carrying Pip the firefly through five worlds at nightfall, from a sunset meadow to the floating islands of Skyglade. Play it in your browser now, or soon on iPhone and iPad.

Long description

Tonight the fireflies light the sky over Frostpine Peaks, and Pip overslept. Pip's light is too dim to make the trip alone, so Ember the fox offers a ride.

Canopy Run is a side-scrolling platformer about that trip. Run, jump and bounce through Meadow Start, the autumn hills of Amber Ridge, the pitch-dark Glimmer Caves and the snowy Frostpine Peaks. And when the summit turns out to be empty, keep climbing: in Skyglade, the newest world, a trail of gold sparks leads across floating islands above the clouds, where warm updrafts lift Ember into the sky.

Pip isn't just along for the ride. The firefly flies ahead to show where to land, which beetle to watch out for and where the next gold glimmers are. In the caves, Pip's glow is the only light, and it grows brighter with every glimmer collected.

Every world is lit for the evening, as the sun goes down over the meadow and the moon comes up over the peaks. The soundtrack is built on “The Night”, a song by the developer, rearranged for each world, and the sound effects are synthesized live, from crunching snow to dripping cave water. The art, from Ember's run cycle to the trees, rocks and menus, is modeled and rendered in Blender.
